Sugar — Avoid — can cause harm
While not acutely toxic in small amounts, excessive sugar intake is dangerous for dogs due to its long-term health effects. It can lead to obesity, dental problems, and increase the risk of developing diabetes mellitus and pancreatitis. Ingestion of large quantities can also cause gastrointestinal upset.
